11-Speed Bonded Hollowtech II Road Crankset Recall

Statement from Shimano

CPSC Recall Notice

The above links describe the nature of this crank recall and how Shimano will be dealing with the situation. The statement from SHIMANO must be read in order to determine if your crankset is affected by the recall.  If it is and you would like Recycled Cycles to be your point of contact, we will gladly help. The service department is always busy and with the high quantity of these components in the market, it will be a challenge.

This situation is evolving and the information here is subject to change. If you are unsure of where to start, please feel free to bring your bike down to the shop anytime during business hours, Tuesday-Friday 11am-6pm and Saturday 10am-6pm.

Recycled Cycles Crankset Recall Inspection Process:

1. Be prepared to drop off your bike and leave it with us until the next available due date. As with any repair, we want to make sure we have ample time to complete your inspection.

2. We will follow the protocols set forth by Shimano for inspection pertaining to the recall. This includes removal and cleaning of the crankset to insure we are able to detect any anomalies. If there are no issues with your crankset, it will be reinstalled and any necessary adjustments will be made at no charge to you.

3. If any delamination is found, we will submit a claim on your behalf and request a replacement crankset. After Shimano processes your claim, we will be required to send them the crankset for an additional inspection. It will be at Shimano's discretion whether the crankset meets the requirement for replacement. Shimano will be handling all claims on a first come, first served basis. Once a replacement crankset is received by us, it will be reinstalled and any necessary adjustments will be made at no charge to you.
